The following options are available for meetings with the artist Tamar Raban
at the Performance Art Platform at the new Tel Aviv central bus station.
Every meeting includes a short discussion with the students, and the opportunity to ask questions and respond. The duration of each meeting is approximately 1 ½ hours. A combined programme can be held over two meetings.
1. Sources of Performance Art in the 20th Century : A survey using slides and video clips of performances and interdisciplinary works that broke with tradition and carved the way for art on the 20th century. The survey is not chronological, but outlines subjects in art such as body, sound, audience, surroundings, and action. This survey covers artistic movements and trends such as Dada, Futurism, Bauhaus, Surrealism, happenings, Fluxus, Conceptual art, post-modernism; and artists such as Marcel Duchamp, John Cage, Laurie Anderson, Dennis Oppenheim,
Vitto Acconci, Cindy Sherman, Marina Abramowitz, Joseph Beuys,
2. Selected Works by the Artist : A presentation of the performance
art of Tamar Raban via slides and video documentation.
3. Short Performance : by Tamar Raban and/or ShaharMarcus, member
of Ensemble 209 with explanations, discussion, and conversation.
