New Performance
Written, directed and designed by: Guy Gutman
"Amplifier" is a multidisciplinary performance that combines performance art, theatre, movement, and
sound. The performance is based on radio broadcasts in Israel. News, current affairs, call-in talk shows,
and studio broadcasts are broadcast to the performance space in real time providing the material that is "adapted for the performance.Amplifier" aims to create a tension between the "theatre" in the radio studio and the theatre on the stage – tension between two illusory realities through which a complex picture of everyday Israel is reflected. The ensemble creates a very physical stage world, visually and vocally rich that exists in the gaps between theatre and actuality and between the private world and collective existence. "This is the first ensemble production directed by Guy Gutman, who has collaborated with Tamar Raban and Ensemble 209 on the works "The Second Law of Thermodynamics," "Old Wives' Tales," and "Cookies."
